Setting up VoC

A Verification of Competency (VoC) links a primary attainment with its individual assessments and requirements, then ties the entire structure to an Asset Role for automated compliance checks. Setting this up correctly ensures that every component of a high-risk competency is tracked, visible, and reportable across your workforce.

This guide covers:

  • Adding parent skills with the Competency Definition set to “Verification of Competency”.
  • Creating child skills for assessments, logbooks, and practical checks.
  • Assigning child skills to their parent skill in the Skills area.
  • Creating a dedicated VoC Asset Role (e.g., VoC Dozer).
  • Linking the parent skill via the Associated Skills tab.
  • Assigning people to the VoC Asset Role for compliance tracking.
  • Reviewing VoC status in a person’s profile or the VoC Viewer.

Your VoC structure is now fully configured and visible across your internal reporting.

💡 Power User Insight: By linking your parent VoC skill to a specific Asset Role, you create a targeted compliance requirement that only applies to operators of that equipment. This ensures your internal training matrix remains clean, only triggering the multi-step VoC checks for the relevant personnel rather than your entire workforce.
