Creating Equivalent Skills

Equivalent Skills allow you to link different qualifications that satisfy the same compliance requirement. Organising these relationships within your Skills Library ensures that your compliance checks and Training Needs Analysis reports automatically recognise higher-level qualifications as meeting lower-level requirements, reducing unnecessary training gaps.

This guide covers:

  • Opening an existing skill in the Skills Library.
  • Navigating to the Equivalent Skills tab and using the Add icon.
  • Typing in equivalent skill names that already exist in the library.
  • Adding new skills to the library if an equivalent does not yet exist.
  • Saving equivalents to simplify compliance and TNA reporting.

Your compliance framework now reflects the real-world flexibility of alternative qualifications.

💡 Power User Insight: Map higher-level licences as equivalents to their lower-level counterparts — for example, linking an HR Class licence as an equivalent to a C Class licence. This means the system automatically recognises your most qualified workers as compliant, eliminating false gaps in your TNA reports without any manual workarounds.
